Engineering for students before college
Engineering is not a standard school subject, so most students choose a major without ever trying it. Our hands-on, team-based labs let them find out sooner.
STEM Learning Labs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Curriculum in development
Hands-on labs for classrooms and partner programs
We're building lesson plans and lab guides for teachers, volunteers, and program staff. Here's what is coming first, and if a program also wants mentorship, our instructor network is an optional next step.
Team projects, not just lectures
Students design, build, and test together, the same cycle engineers use on real problems, not worksheets alone.
Skills that show up in the real world
Labs mirror how engineering is done in research and industry, so classroom work maps to skills students can recognize later.
Built for the people you already have
Lesson plans and lab guides written for teachers, volunteers, and program staff, with short prep and clear instructions so your team can lead the labs.
In the lab
Design, build, and test
Design
Students define a problem and propose possible approaches.
Build
They construct a prototype using materials that programs can source.
Test
They evaluate results, identify failures, and revise the design.
